Foster a Golden
Thank you for your interest in providing a foster home for one of our Goldens. We are so grateful for people who are willing to share their time, love and home with a rescued Golden Retriever. Fostering a dog for a rescue organization is a unique experience: sometimes absolutely beautiful, sometimes ho-hum and sometimes difficult. Very special families are needed to take on this task.
The main purpose of putting a rescue dog in a home situation is to learn about the dog’s true personality so the rescue can make the best possible placement for each dog. Each of our Goldens will come into rescue because of some trauma in their lives. With this in mind, Forever Friends needs to learn about your family, your lifestyle and your personal preferences so we will be able to pair you with the right foster dog.
FGGR Rescue will foster and/or adopt to homes in the Ventura and Santa Barbara County area or where a registered volunteer is located. A volunteer will conduct a Family Visit to meet the family and review the information provided on the Foster Application form.
All Goldens are neutered/spayed, microchipped, current on shots and vet checked prior to being placed in adoptive homes. We will provide all medical records and evaluation information that is available to us. We ask that the foster continue to provide us with feedback on the foster dog’s behavior and characteristics.
To begin the foster process, please complete the online application at the link below. Please tell us about your previous pet experiences, your past experiences with rescue animals and your family needs. When your application is received by our staff, it will be reviewed and forwarded to the Foster Coordinator. She will contact you to discuss our Rescue and to schedule a personal visit to meet you and your family at your home.
We do not share your personal information with any other agency, group or individuals.
